CONFAB ON MODERN TRENDS IN DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION, TREATMENT IN TEHRAN

TEHRAN, 5 January (United Nations Information Centre)— As part of the UN Office on Drug and Crime’s joint programme called "Drug Abuse Research and Intervention Unified Strategy for Iran (DARIUS)", a conference entitled   "Modern Trends in Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment" will be held here at Imam Khomeini Hospital from 7 to 9 January 2003.

            The conference is organized by an NGO called Iranian Scientific Society of Addiction as part of the above-mentioned project in collaboration with Tehran University Medical School and National Research Center on Medical Sciences.

The three-day conference will be inaugurated by Secretary of Drug Control Headquarters, Dr. Ali Hashemi’s speech. The gathering will include papers and presentations made on different aspects of drug abuse prevention, treatment and rehabilitation by some 42 Iranian experts.
