NATIONAL YOUTH ORGANIZATION AND UN
SIGN MOU
TERHAN, 25 August (UNIC)— The Advisor to President and Head of National Youth Organization (NYO) Dr. Rahim Ebadi and the UN Resident Coordinator in the Islamic Republic of Iran Mr. Frederick Lyons have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for institutionalized and systematic cooperation in the field of youth.
The MOU, signed on Tuesday evening, covers a period of one year. During this time NYO and the UN agencies in Iran will formulate and implement joint action projects on four major youth related fields: youth empowerment, the International Year for Sports and Physical Education 2005, youth employment and youth voluntary activities.
The two sides committed themselves to exchanging information and experiences in the field of youth research and if needed conducting joint projects. Further they will exchange planning experiences, especially action plans and programmes for the organization of youth affairs.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Lyons said he very much looked forward to working with NYO, together with the UN system in Iran.
