Int’l DAY OF PEACE CHESS TOURNAMENT

TEHRAN, 19 September 2004  (UNIC) - On the occasion of the International Day of Peace, 21 September 2004, the United Nations External Relations Theme Group, chaired by UNIC-Tehran, in cooperation with the Chess Federation of Iran organized a three-day chess tournament for children under the ages of 8 to 10 years at Chess Federation of Iran from 19 to 21 September 2004. The theme of this year’s peace day is “Peace through Sports”. Some 120 children have participated in the competitions.
