UN SECRETARY GENERLA KOFI ANNAN

ARRIVING IN TEHRAN TODAY

TEHRAN, 2 September 2006 (UNIC)-- United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan will arrive here today for a short visit to hold discussions with senior Iranian leaders including the president and the foreign minister on the implementation of UN Security Council resolution 1701.

Mr. Annan has been on the tour of the region to discus implementation of UN Security Council resolution 1701, which resulted in cessation of hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel last month.
