On the occasion of International Day of Nowruz and third anniversary of adoption of UN General Assembly Resolution on the International Day of Nowruz, Tehran Municipality in cooperation with UNIC Tehran organized a tree planting ceremony at the newly inaugurated Nowruz Park in Tehran on 13 May 2013.

Speaking at the ceremony were: Director General of Abbas Abad Development Company Dr. Hojjatollah Mulla Salehi, Advisor to the Mayor of Tehran and Head of Environment and Sustainable Development Office of Tehran Municipality Mr. Mohammad Hadi Heydarzadeh and UNIC Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Moghadam who delivered the SG’s message on International Day of Nowruz 2013.

About 50 people including mayors of different districts of Tehran, journalists and NGO members attended the ceremony which ended by planting a Cedarwood sapling in the park.
