On Saturday 21 September 2013, UNIC in cooperation with Tehran Peace Museum commemorate International Day of Peace at the Museum’s hall in downtown Tehran.

UN Resident Coordinator Mr. Gary Lewis delivered the SG’ International Day of Peace message for the audience. Then in his remarks he elaborated on non-military elements which preserve peace and prevent wars to happen.

Other speakers of the ceremony were Secretary-General of Iranian National Commission for UNESCO Dr. Mohammad Reza Saeidabadi, Representative of International Committee of Museums in Iran Mohammad Beheshti and Manager of Tehran Peace Museum Mohammad Reza Taghipour-Moghadam. The participants observed one minute of silence in honor of those killed in conflicts and the survivors of wars.
