There was a focus on International Court of Justice (ICJ), Treaty Collection and UN Audiovisual Library of International Law. The participants learnt how to locate a multilateral treaty and its status, as well as the procedural history of International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights including the verbatim records of the General Assembly meetings held on 16 December 1966 when the two Covenants were adopted by consensus, without any abstentions.
English and Persian copies of UN Charter, Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the UN System Chart were distributed among the participants. A video on ICJ with Persian subtitles was screened for the group.
Ms. Fatemeh Babakhani who was the organizer of the programme found the workshop very useful and hoped that the group can participate in more UNIC activities.
